The African Initiative Congress on Climate Change will primarily focus on fostering inclusive dialogue among stakeholders, including government officials, district leaders, civil society and international donor organizations in order to build on the existing knowledge base of information on climate change. We hope these discussions will serve as a platform for developing implementation guidelines of adaptation and mitigation strategies to effectively address the impacts of climate change in Africa. Moreover, we anticipate that these guidelines of adaptation will serve as a general template for African countries in developing tailored programmes of action to address the impacts of climate change.
